WYFF has very limited report from about an hour ago.
1. The Judge, not surprisingly denied the ACC motion to dismiss the case on Jurisdictional grounds. (thus, Clemson is going forward in Pickens...there was no credible argument for the ACC as far as Clemson's SC jurisdiction was concerned. Clemson certainly filed first.)
2. Judge denied the ACC request to toll the SC case until the NC cases goes forward. (NC case is under appeal so it won't go forward for over a year)...it appears, though WYFF wasn't clear, he ruled the same as Florida, they are going forward here, right now....while the ACC appeals. (so in other words, Clemson and FSU will both be finished in their respective state Courts long before either of their cases ever gets back for trial in NC)
3. Judge continued the Clemson arguments about sovereign immunity. (no mention of until when)
4. No mention of the motion for summary judgement which WYFF noted yesterday was also set for today....it actually made up the lions share of the documents for motions filed for todays hearing so likely it is pretty involved. (even if redacted...which means it is "all about" that ESPN contract...otherwise, it would be reacted as that is the only protected document in the whole case) ......likely it, like the sovereign immunity was continued. (the Tallahassee FSU Judge did the same thing...he dealt with the jurisdictional motions on day one...then reset the rest for about a week later...don't know what they are doing yet as to that question. (as in how fast will they come back in Pickens for the rest of the motions that were set for today)

The Pickens Courthouse isn't as rural as you might hope, but I suppose you could bring in sheep for some relaxation time.

I was assured that the whole case might be over today? Did it happen? Is Clemson free? Did the ACC disintegrate in terror?

Good to know. Never been to court in Pickens, but maybe one day.

Yes…the summary judgment was quite definitive.

The ESPN contract and the GOR agreements are two separate documents, one of which (GOR agreement) was ratified twice by the members (including Moo U and F$U) who all received benefits under it.

Quit following these cases and just wait until ESPN decides what they want to do with the ACC.

lot of truth to this...except ESPN needs\needed the public relations cover of others legally acting to leave (FSU and Clemson) to get away with pulling the plug on the ACC without looking like the bad guy.
